🎬 Friday Video Goodness: Protect This House
End your week inspired
Our semi-irregular shot of creative revelation
Good day to you. We hope you’re having a thoroughly splendid Friday.
People who think Germans aren’t funny haven’t met enough Germans, so we thought we’d start out by correcting that myth.
Then we’ve got you covered with an inspirational sports video from Under Armor.
A stop motion Samurai film (it’s not an ad, it’s just really cool)
A Lloyds Bank ad that totally normal people who don’t cry at adverts won’t understand
Fancy a 30 min documentary about the way music manipulates you in reality TV?
A nice movie trailer to add to your watchlist
A wrapup of our 2022.
On that last note, if you’re interested in how we spent our year there’s a bit of a longer blog post here.
Have a blessed weekend.

Protect This House
We’re big fans of both Under Armor and sport videos generally. This one almost got me to the gym. Almost.
It’s Handy To Have a Dick
Don’t blame me, that’s the actual name of the campaign. But it makes a valid point really well. Check it out.
Hidari - Stop Motion Samurai Film
This was getting some attention and we thought it might be a cool little ad. Turns out it is actually a short stop motion action movie about Samurai. But it’s also very, very awesome.
Lloyds Bank - Smart Start
This probably cost about £1m to make and it’s mildly manipulative, but that’s what we love about ads.
Music on Reality TV
Perhaps save this one for your lunchtime? I don’t imagine any of us thought reality TV was subtle. But this really lays the process bare. It’s a really interesting look at how bluntly reality TV uses music to manipulates the audience.
How we Spent 2022
We were pretty busy.
Trailer of the week:
Quasi
This feels a bit like a 1970s ensemble comedy but we thought the trailer looked particularly good.
Jerry’s final thought…
That’s it. Thanks for absorbing all of our musings. If you want to know a bit more about our 2022 video production work then we’ve written it up here. Enjoy.
